Visa Information

Foreigners planning to travel to Russia are required to have a valid Russian Entry Visa. Russian visa can be obtained at a local Russian Embassy or Consulate.

In order to have a visa, an official invitation letter issued by the Conference Organizers and approved by Russian Federal Migration Service is required. Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) on behalf of the Organizing Committee will provide such a visa support (invitation) letter to all participants. Please send a copy of the first page (with your personal data and photo) of your valid international passport to Nataliya Kosareva (org10emac2019@unecon.ru). In 2-3 days we will send you a scan-copy of your invitation. The scan-copy is enough to apply for Humanitarian visa.

The purpose of your visit will be defined as "scientific-technical relations - participation in the Regional Conference of The European Marketing Academy (EMAC-2019). Type of the requested visa will be single-entry «HUMANITARIAN» visa.

When filling in the dates of your visit (in the application form) please be sure to add extra days (1-3 days) at the both ends of your period of stay. This is recommended in order to avoid possible complications if, for example, changes occur when booking or purchasing travel tickets, or your departure is delayed or rescheduled.

We will send a scan-copy of your invitation to you by e-mail. The original hard copy may be sent by post on your request.

The Applicants are responsible for ensuring that the personal information provided in the visa application form is correct. It is always advisable to consult your local Russian embassy/consulate to find out the list of documents required for the visa.

As well participants can request on their own for visa support at the hotel where they have booked the accommodation. In this case the type of visa will be «TOURIST» and the invitation will be issued for the dates of staying at the hotel.

For EU citizens

EU citizens can use the both type of visa («HUMANITARIAN» or «TOURIST»). However we recommend to get an invitation (letter) from the Conference Organizers and to apply for «HUMANITARIAN» visa.

For non EU citizens

Unfortunately it takes 2 months from the Conference Organizers to approve the invitation letter in Russian Federal Migration Service for non EU citizens. It is why we recommend for non EU citizens to apply for «TOURIST» visa. In this case you must have a hotel reservation (in Russia) and return tickets (to Russia and from) to present these at a local Russian Embassy or Consulate during a visit to apply for a visa.
